VALOR Clinic Foundation - Veteran Holiday Meals

Our need is even greater this year to make the holiday season brighter for our Veterans through a nourishing meal, and we urgently need volunteers to lend a hand in preparing these meals.

Can you volunteer this weekend (15th & 16th) from 10-2 at our food pantry or during the week as we approach our goal of delivering 700 complete holiday meal boxes to our veterans (up from 550 last year)?

Flames engulf businesses in Monroe County

HAMILTON TWP., Pa. -- Fire tore through a strip mall in Hamilton Township, Monroe County on Tuesday night.  

A fire alarm went off just before 9 p.m. in the Countryside Square plaza in the 6500 block of Route 209, according to emergency dispatchers.  

The building, which housed multiple businesses, was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, dispatchers said.

Monroe County Coordinated Campaign posted on their FB page: "Just an FYI, today we were notified that Theresa Johnson, her family and her LLC which owns her families bar are suing the Monroe County Coordinated Campaign in a civil lawsuit though no details are listed on the court website and no one has been served.  This appears to be an attempt to cow us into silence about the publicly available LSA Grant gambling tax money that went to her private business.

Communities in the Poconos are planning ahead as proposals for data centers continue to pop up across the state.


 

With data center proposals popping up around the state, townships in Monroe County are planning ahead for the future.

Officials with Chestnuthill Township recently passed a new zoning ordinance to only allow data centers in the light industrial commercial zones.
