With data center proposals popping up around the state, townships in Monroe County are planning ahead for the future.
Officials with Chestnuthill Township recently passed a new zoning ordinance to only allow data centers in the light industrial commercial zones.
Officials say they modeled the new ordinance on nearby Jackson Township's plans to limit where a data center could potentially go due to environmental and quality of life concerns.
