Short Term Rental Information
Tobyhanna Township approved a short-term rental ordinance in 2022. A revision to the ordinance was adopted in February of 2024 that changed the occupancy limit to 2 per bedroom + 2 and reduced fines for violations to be within state guidelines. Tobyhanna Township recently imposed a cap on the number of short term rentals licenses and due to the uncertainties surrounding license issuance, caution is advised when purchasing in Tobyhanna Township. TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A day of kayaking on a lake in the Poconos turns to tragedy. On Sunday, crews say a man is dead after a reported drowning in Monroe County.
Officials say crews were called to the 100 block of Sir Bradford Road in Tobyhanna Township near Lake Kathryn for a reported drowning victim shortly before 12:30 p.m.
The call originally came in as two people in the water, but one got out before rescue crews arrived.

The psychology department at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania hosted the 53rd Biannual Research Forum at the end of the spring semester. The Research Forum was started over 25 years ago by Sussie Eshun, Ph.D., professor of psychology, and Richard Wesp, Ph.D., retired distinguished professor of psychology, as a venue to showcase the outstanding student research being done in the psychology department.
