Short Term Rental Information
Tobyhanna Township approved a short-term rental ordinance in 2022. A revision to the ordinance was adopted in February of 2024 that changed the occupancy limit to 2 per bedroom + 2 and reduced fines for violations to be within state guidelines. Tobyhanna Township recently imposed a cap on the number of short term rentals licenses and due to the uncertainties surrounding license issuance, caution is advised when purchasing in Tobyhanna Township. Nine East Stroudsburg University students attended the program “Academic Seminar on National Security” through The Washington Center in Washington, D.C. The winner of the sweepstakes to buy the Trexler Scout Reservation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sheltering veterans and helping them obtain quality health care.

One of them is the Pocono Heritage Land Trust, which recently submitted a bid for the Boy Scout camp, which has a history stretching back more than 90 years. Executive Director Louise Troutman was limited in what she could say because of a non-disclosure agreement, but was worried about potential competition for Camp Trexler.
For generations of Boy Scouts in the Lehigh Valley, the Trexler Scout Reservation has been a chance to get in touch with nature.
The camp features two lakes, a 65-foot climbing wall and zipline, a crafts building, hiking trails and dozens of other activities to pass a summer day.
