Short Term Rental Information
Tobyhanna Township approved a short-term rental ordinance in 2022. A revision to the ordinance was adopted in February of 2024 that changed the occupancy limit to 2 per bedroom + 2 and reduced fines for violations to be within state guidelines. Tobyhanna Township recently imposed a cap on the number of short term rentals licenses and due to the uncertainties surrounding license issuance, caution is advised when purchasing in Tobyhanna Township. The Monroe County Communications Center stated that a crash occurred Wednesday afternoon on I-380 Southbound near mile marker 6.
Officials confirmed there are injuries, but the severity and number of injuries are unknown.

According to District Attorney Mike Mancuso, Tatiana Divina Peterson, 39, of Tobyhanna, pulled alongside another car and fired multiple shots while both cars were in motion, hitting the victim in the forehead with one of the shots.

Pennsylvania State Police are accusing a woman of shooting a man in the face during a road rage incident on I-380 in Monroe County Tuesday morning.
The woman, 38, is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, terrorist threats, propel missile into occupied dwelling, recklessly endangering another person, and reckless driving, according to a news release from state police.
