Short Term Rental Information
Tobyhanna Township approved a short-term rental ordinance in 2022. A revision to the ordinance was adopted in February of 2024 that changed the occupancy limit to 2 per bedroom + 2 and reduced fines for violations to be within state guidelines. Tobyhanna Township recently imposed a cap on the number of short term rentals licenses and due to the uncertainties surrounding license issuance, caution is advised when purchasing in Tobyhanna Township. Three Monroe County residents are facing multiple felony charges after they were allegedly caught burglarizing a vacant industrial building late Monday night.
Dallas Township Police were dispatched to the former Offset Paperback Manufacturing building around 10:00 P.M. after receiving reports of unauthorized individuals inside the facility. Upon arrival, officers intercepted a vehicle attempting to flee the property.

TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP, MONROE CO. (WOLF) — Data centers could soon become a familiar sight across northeastern Pennsylvania. One Monroe County township is moving forward with a controversial zoning change that residents say threatens the area’s natural identity.
Another meeting with a packed room, as Tobyhanna Township supervisors voted to approve a zoning overlay that allows a data center to be built on land currently zoned rural residential.
