Monroe County's Tax Reassessment Process Continues Majority of Barrett, Coolbaugh, Mount Pocono, Paradise, Price, Tobyhanna and Tunkhannock property owners being sent data mailers
NO VALUES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED YET.
Beginning December 18, 2025, owners of residential properties with existing dwellings throughout Monroe County will receive data collection postcards as part of the county's Tax Reassessment Project.
Monroe County has contracted Tyler Technologies to conduct a countywide property reassessment.
This reassessment is subsequent to the previous reassessment in 2020 to ensure assessments continue to follow the guidelines of IAAO standards. The reassessment project includes data gathering, verification of data, the establishment of assessed values, and an opportunity to appeal. The Monroe County reassessment project will conclude by 2028.
The data mailer postcard provides information that was recorded by the Monroe County
Assessment office. Property owners are asked to scan the QR code to review their property information for accuracy and to report any errors to Monroe County Assessment office via the website listed on the postcard. Property owners should carefully review the data, comparing it to their property. If the information is correct, there is no need to do anything further. If the information is incorrect, owners should update any changes needed on the website and submit it signed, dated, and with contact information within 14 days. A glossary of terms can be found on the website under Need Help? to help property owners understand the information within the mailer postcard site. Distribution of data mailer postcards will begin on December 18, 2025, and will continue through March 2026 to residential property owners throughout the county.
Tyler Technologies has set up a website dedicated to educating residents and answering questions regarding Monroe County's Tax Reassessment Project. The website includes a video presentation on the Tax Reassessment process. A data mailer post card guide, the glossary of terms and updated project information can also be found on the website:
