Tobyhanna Township approved a short-term rental ordinance in 2022. A revision to the ordinance was adopted in February of 2024 that changed the occupancy limit to 2 per bedroom + 2 and reduced fines for violations to be within state guidelines. Tobyhanna Township recently imposed a cap on the number of short term rentals licenses and due to the uncertainties surrounding license issuance, caution is advised when purchasing in Tobyhanna Township. Shanace Armstrong-Woods, 40, of Tobyhanna, is accused of selling heroin and fentanyl, said Pocono Mountain Regional police.
Armstrong-Woods was arrested after a search warrant last week in the 100 block of Colt Place. Investigators found bulk quantities of heroin and fentanyl, worth more than $8,000, as well as materials to store and sell drugs and money from the sales, police say.
