Statement from Republican Party re: New Mayor of Stroudsburg
"Take a lesson from both local and national events, Republicans.Locally, in the Borough of Stroudsburg, the Borough Manager has received raises totaling 80% in just four years, while the Borough Council raised taxes 70% in eight years. There were crowded meetings decrying this obvious mismanagement of finances.I was there.Nothing changed. The Democrats held firm. They then knowingly campaigned for a young mayor with three DUIs to be reelected, knowing he would not even serve 15 minutes of his term because, immediately upon being sworn in, they would appoint him to a $75,000-a-year job.A job he cannot do efficiently, because he is not allowed to enter many of the businesses he is tasked with helping. As a heavy drinker, he had been banned from those establishments.
