Kicking Off the 2026-2027 State Budget Cycle
One of my largest responsibilities as your legislator is to deliver a state budget that respects hardworking families and the taxpayers who fund it. The process of enacting a state budget for fiscal year 2026-27 began on Tuesday with the Governor’s budget address, and just like any legislation, the budget must pass the House, Senate, and then be signed into law by the Governor.

Property Tax Cut Proposal
"Thank you Nicole Walters from BRC News 13 for covering my proposal to cut property taxes in the Poconos! Empowering municipalities to levy just a 2% hotel occupancy tax would yield hundreds of thousands of dollars that we could return to seniors, families, and businesses through a property tax cut. I’m willing to work with anybody on either side of the aisle to help lower property taxes for residents and local businesses."
A recent post about Pocono Township contains misinformation from Maureen Madden that should be clarified.
"A recent post about Pocono Township contains misinformation from Maureen Madden that should be clarified. Pocono Township did not declare itself a “sanctuary city,” and no vote was taken related to immigration enforcement.First, Pocono Township is a township, not a city.Second, a “sanctuary city” refers to policies limiting cooperation with federal immigration enforcement to protect illegal immigrants from deportation. That is not what was discussed or voted on. And it is not something I support (although I’m sure Madden does). What was voted on was a motion by Commissioner Velardi to declare Pocono Township a Second Amendment sanctuary—meaning the township will not enforce unconstitutional laws that infringe on the right to keep and bear arms. I support the Second Amendment and the Constitution and voted accordingly.

Is bingeing no longer a thing?
For some people, the indicator of a great show is its bingeability. To sit down and do nothing other than fully immerse themselves in a show is what makes it worth recommending.
Nowadays, that luxury has been taken away from the people because shows started releasing new seasons in parts, spread over either days, weeks, or even a month apart.
Netflix was known for dropping all the episodes of a season at the same time, unlike other streaming services at the time; however, now almost every service follows the same schedule.
On Deadline, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, commented on the origin of the split seasons.
She stated that this style of release started during the pandemic because of the many writers’ strikes at the time. With the countless strikes, it took the working writers longer to finalize season episodes.
