Tobyhanna Township approved a short-term rental ordinance in 2022. A revision to the ordinance was adopted in February of 2024 that changed the occupancy limit to 2 per bedroom + 2 and reduced fines for violations to be within state guidelines. Tobyhanna Township recently imposed a cap on the number of short term rentals licenses and due to the uncertainties surrounding license issuance, caution is advised when purchasing in Tobyhanna Township. TOBYHANNA TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police charged a man after they allege he threatened troopers while being arrested for a hit-and-run incident.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, on October 25 troopers were called to investigate a driver that almost hit another car in Tobyhanna Township.
Police say the vehicle fit the description of a hit-and-run crash that occurred in Wilkes-Barre
City earlier that evening.
