A new hotel has been approved in Pocono Township.On Nov. 17, the Pocono Township Board of Commissioners voted unanimously, with Commissioner Brian Winot’s abstention, to conditionally approve a final land development plan for a project referred to as the “Trapasso Hotel.”The project, put forth by Trapasso and Winot Enterprises, LLC, contains a two-story retail building of 7,200 square feet and a four-story 110-room hotel.

As part of the ongoing improvements at Exit 308 in East Stroudsburg, drivers should be aware of a key traffic shift beginning the first week of December.  This change is necessary to allow crews to safely set the beams for the new Prospect Street bridge and construct west bound roadway of Interstate 80.   Here’s what to expect:•Eastbound traffic will be shifted onto the newly constructed lanes.•Westbound traffic will temporarily cross over and use the original eastbound lanes.•Exit 308 (East Stroudsburg) will remain fully accessible in both directions.This traffic adjustment marks an important milestone in a multi-year infrastructure project aimed at modernizing and enhancing the safety and flow of one of Monroe County’s busiest interchanges.

Tractor theft*** UPDATE:  The suspect has been identified in this matter.  We thank you for your assistance with this case***The Stroud Area Regional Police Department is attempting to identify the pictured white male. On 11/27/2025 at approximately 6:00 AM the pictured male arrived at a business located on North 5th Street in Stroud Township driving a tractor. The male parked the tractor, entered the business, and provided the clerk with the keys. The male was then picked up by an unknown person.   It was later determined that the tractor was stolen the night prior from Glenbrook Golf Club.
