A Tobyhanna woman has pleaded guilty to lesser charges in a stabbing case.

On Feb. 5, Colleen Hall, 57, pleaded guilty to the charges of first-degree misdemeanor possession of an instrument of crime and second-degree misdemeanor simple assault. She initially faced first-degree felony charges of attempted homicide and aggravated assault, and two second-degree felonies of aggravated assault.

Hall was accused of stabbing a 71-year-old man she lived with in the face and chest at a residence they lived in on Winding Way in Coolbaugh Township on July 21, 2025. She was also accused of kicking a Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department officer in the chest.

During an Aug. 13 preliminary hearing, the victim testified that Hall said, “You’re going down,” while she was at the foot of his bed with a knife. He testified that he told Hall, “Please don’t do this,” before Hall said, “I know I’m going to jail for this.” She then attempted to stab him through the right eye, which failed due to his glasses deflecting the knife, the victim said in court.

The victim also said Hall stabbed him in the upper left portion of his chest before he disarmed her and got away. The knife did not penetrate any soft tissue.

Hall is scheduled to be sentenced on April 15 by Monroe County Court of Common Pleas Judge Janet Jackson.
