At which school in the district do you teach?

Stroudsburg High School and Junior High

What subject(s) do you teach?

Career Planning/Awareness, Personal Finance, Keyboarding, Digital Multimedia(s), and Computer Skills.

How long have you been teaching at SASD?

This is my first year teaching here at Stroudsburg School District!

What is your favorite part about teaching?

My favorite part of teaching is being able to invest in my students in ways that truly prepare them for life beyond the classroom.

I enjoy helping them build not only academic skills, but also confidence, responsibility, and a strong work ethic. Knowing that I can play a small role in guiding them toward their goals, whether that’s college, a career, or another path, makes the work meaningful. Seeing students grow, gain clarity about their future, and take the next steps with confidence is the most rewarding part of what I do.

What is one piece of advice you would share with your students?

Be willing to fail, because failure is often where the most growth happens, especially during difficult times. When you take time to understand what went wrong and learn from it, you gain knowledge and experience that make you stronger. Every setback is an opportunity to improve and come back better than before.

Who do you look up to?

My grandmother is someone I truly look up to. She taught me that even in moments when you feel discouraged, you should always find the strength to get back up and go the extra mile. She reminded me to be proud of who I am while continuing to improve just a little each day, striving to get 1% better every day.

What is your proudest achievement?

Being able to give back to the community that I grew up in through community service opportunities, teaching, and coaching amazing athletes. Also being able to BRING THE JUG BACK WHERE IT BELONGS! STROUDSBURG MOUNTIES!

Why did you choose to become a teacher?

I chose to become a teacher because I value the opportunity to positively impact the lives of the students I have the privilege to teach. I am passionate about helping them prepare for the next stages of their lives by encouraging strong work habits, resilience, and a drive to achieve more. My goal is not only to educate them academically, but also to help them grow into motivated, confident individuals who are ready for future success.

What makes you smile?

Continuing to compete in the javelin, enjoy watching sports, and coaching allows me to stay connected to the game while also mentoring and developing young men and women along the way.

What is something your students have taught you?

My students have taught me that it’s okay to make mistakes. In life, you’re going to mess up and face setbacks. What truly matters is how you respond, choosing to learn from those moments, grow, and turn them into opportunities for improvement and positive change.
