State Representative Maureen Madden recently posted a video of herself "confronting” Congressman Rob Bresnahan. While it may have generated attention for her on social media, as her constituent, I feel embarrassed to call her our State Representative.
ICE agents are doing the job they have been tasked with under the law. The reason ICE is so active today is not because of anything Congressman Bresnahan has done, but because of four years of failed border policy under the Biden administration. An open and unenforced border inevitably leads to strained resources and increased enforcement actions.
Instead of staging confrontations for cameras, our elected officials should be focused on solutions. Securing the border, enforcing existing laws, and supporting communities that are dealing with the consequences of federal inaction are all ways we can fix the illegal immigration problem. Northeastern Pennsylvania deserves serious leadership, not political theater.
