Girls Basketball Update

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

The Stroudsburg Girls basketball team is working hard and pushing themselves so far this season. So far, they have five wins and 11 losses. The team’s success cannot be measured by wins and losses alone. This year, the girls have been building a strong bond and foundation for the future.

The Lady Mounties started the basketball season with a new coaching staff. The girls’ new head coach is Coach Kelly Williams. With a new coach stepping in, the program experienced a new team culture.

Players are constantly being challenged to push themselves harder, communicate better on the court, and take responsibility both individually and as a team. The team has shown deep determination and great adaptability skills throughout the season.

The 5–11 record so far reflects the tough competition the team faced, including several very close and well-fought games. Throughout the first half of the season so far, the girls’ confidence levels have grown greatly. One of the most positive aspects of the season was the team’s relationship. “

“This season has been going pretty well so far. We’ve had some tough games, but it is progress over perfection”

That sense of family and camaraderie with the girls helped the team stay motivated and focused, even when the season became challenging.

Looking ahead, there are plenty of opportunities in sight. A few of the younger players gained important varsity minutes, and returning athletes now have a clearer idea of what it takes to compete at a higher level.

With so many great athletes that were on the team last year, a lot of new girls got to learn the intense varsity-level game. The Lady Mounties will face off against rival East Stroudsburg South at home on Friday, January 22.
