POCONO TWP. — Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark will open for the season Wednesday, Camelback Resort officials announced in a news release.
Following a soft opening Wednesday at 11 a.m., a grand opening for the 27th season will be held Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., resort officials said.
Camelbeach features 37 slides and rides — including Rival Racer — an 8-track water slide, a lazy river, an Olympic-sized pool, waterfalls, geysers, and cabanas, officials said.

Golden Slipper Road is set to close next week for nearly two months.
Bright orange detour signs are posted, giving drivers a heads up a closure is coming to Golden Slipper Road in Pocono Township.
People who live in the Barton Glen community that is connected to Golden Slipper Road are bracing for a long two months of construction.
"There's a lot of traffic that goes up Golden Slipper Road, so it's going to affect a lot of people," said Allison Quinn.
"There are 350 homes in the development, and it's their lifeline," said resident Craig Wortman.
