In January 2023, Jackson Township updated its short-term rental rules and excluded the Residential and Industrial zoning areas from being eligible for new STR licenses. Short-term rentals are allowed in the Recreation/Commercial District, Commercial District Conservation District and Village Districts of Jackson Township. No new STR licenses are being issued in residential districts, those with existing STR licenses AND a Certificate of Non-Conformance will be “grandfathered in.” Details on Jackson Township’s new STR rules are readily available from the township.

The Jackson Corners one-room school has been refurbished but has undergone no COVID-19 modifications. The school is located at 234 Miller Drive, Appenzell – next to St. Mark’s Church. You’re invited to observe the educational surroundings of the Spanish Flu era, and to weigh the pros and cons of that simpler(?) time. No visitation charge and plenty of free parking. Staff from Pocono-Jackson Historical Society will be on hand as hosts.
