Short Term Rental Information

Short-term rentals are not allowed in Hamilton Township. Any property in a designated “A” zoning area is strictly prohibited from rentals. Use of C-1 zoning (commercial) property for short-term rentals should apply for an approved use as a hotel/motel which requires a variance granted by the zoning board.

HAMILTON TWP., Pa. -- Fire tore through a strip mall in Hamilton Township, Monroe County on Tuesday night.  

A fire alarm went off just before 9 p.m. in the Countryside Square plaza in the 6500 block of Route 209, according to emergency dispatchers.  

The building, which housed multiple businesses, was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, dispatchers said.

A former lunch monitor at a Monroe County elementary school sued the principal, superintendent and school district for defamation stemming from an April incident involving tape on children’s mouths.

In her lawsuit filed on Aug. 14 in the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas, former Hamilton Elementary lunch monitor Dorothy Lanza said she was defamed in statements made by Principal Mark Getz and Stroudsburg Area School District Superintendent Cosmas Curry.
