Short-term rentals are regulated in Eldred Township. A 2020 short-term rental ordinance specifies that vacation rentals cannot be located in the residential district or the industrial zoning district. Short-term rentals can be located in the following zoning districts: rural resource, agricultural/residential or a commercial. A Conditional Use Exception is required and requires a review by both the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors and are approved or denied on a case-by-case basis.
