Saturday, October 18, people from all over America will be gathering to peacefully protest President Trump and his policies.
It is important to remember that you are allowed to use your First Amendment right to protest and practice free speech. However, make sure it stays peaceful and that this protest does not become hypocritical.
For Stroudsburg, the location closest would be Dansbury Park in East Stroudsburg at 12 p.m. Here are some tips for you if you are planning to attend this weekend: stay safe.
Bring water and stay hydrated. If you feel like you will pass out, take a seat. Expect many people. With many people comes energy and adrenaline. Be aware of that and pace your energy. Bring snacks as well. If you are planning to make this an all-day event, find people you know whom you can trust and be aware of your surroundings.
Respect others while standing up for your opinion.

Notes of the Past
Behind every uniform on the wall lies a chapter of our band’s story, each thread woven with pride, sweat, and sound.
“As far as I can tell, the Marching Band dates back to 1935 and was established by the Board of School Directors to provide more school spirit for the high school,” says Skip Cassady, Stroudsburg’s Marching Band director.
Before Cassady, there were a few important figures that are staples to the band’s history. John Pyle was the director for the band when it was first established, then taking over for him was Ralph Harrison. Behind these two important figures was another named Numa Snyder. These three are considered the founders of the music program in Stroudsburg.
“I never had the pleasure of meeting John Pyle but I did know Mr. Snyder and Mr. Harrison,” says Cassady, “they were both exceptional human beings with an unwavering and unequaled passion for bringing music to Stroudsburg.”

Monroe County Coordinated Campaign posted on their FB page: "Just an FYI, today we were notified that Theresa Johnson, her family and her LLC which owns her families bar are suing the Monroe County Coordinated Campaign in a civil lawsuit though no details are listed on the court website and no one has been served. This appears to be an attempt to cow us into silence about the publicly available LSA Grant gambling tax money that went to her private business. The lawsuit bizarrely lists Teri VanBritsom, a registered Republican who is not associated with the Coordinated Campaign, who as far as we know only shared the information on Facebook. In the spirit of complete transparency we will post more about this attempt to silence us as we learn more. P.S. We will not be silenced."
