Community Connections is a volunteer and community learning club at Stroudsburg High School (SHS). The club is known for its work within the community, through organizations such as the Valor House and the Salvation Army, and its field trips to places such as Mazezilla and Kalahari. This is Community Connections 3rd year at SHS with Heather Nowosad and Sherri McIntyre being both the advisors and the founders of the organization. “ My goal as Vice President is to get more people showing interest in the club by hosting trips, community service, helping those in need, and anything else that can empower people to make a positive change in our community. — Saphire Benenato, '26

Hundreds of high school students visited East Stroudsburg University on Nov. 12 for an immersive learning experience designed to inspire and recruit future educators, address teacher shortages, and build connections between university faculty, staff, college student ambassadors, and high school students interested in education careers. Organized by ESU’s College of Education, the Aspiring Educator Pathway Project (AEPP) On-Campus Experience featured rotating sessions led by ESU teacher candidates, professional mentors and College of Education faculty.

Winter Driving PreparednessJust a reminder that this is the time to make sure that you and your vehicle are winter ready.  If you are not mechanically inclined or don't like vehicle maintenance, take your vehicle to your mechanic for a quick check to make sure it is ready for the changing weather conditions coming.  Here are some things that should be checked now:     Tires- make sure that the tread depth is correct and that tire pressure is correct.  The tire pressure is on the side wall of the tire and in your vehicle owner's manual.  Tread depth should not go below 2/32".  Proper tread depth helps with traction in the snow and on the road.
