JACKSON TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — 28/22 News now knows the name of the man who died after a crash in Monroe County. 52-year-old Jamie Franks from Chestnuthill Township died Monday after a two-vehicle crash. Arrest made in tissue plant fire investigation The Monroe County Coroner says they were called to the scene on Route 715 in Jackson Township a little after 4:00 p.m. Pennsylvania state police are investigating.

(WBRE/WYOU) — The National Weather Service (NWS) announced on Tuesday multiple tornado warnings in Pennsylvania. On Tuesday, the NWS issued extreme tornado warnings in the following areas: Monroe County Pike County The warning will be in effect until 5:15 p.m., officials say. Shortly before 4:00 p.m., the NWS explained that a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was spotted over East Bangor, or 14 miles north of Easton, moving north. Hail is expected to measure as large as an inch, according to the NWS.

Sarfraz Mohamed Abrahim Detective Varkanis of the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division, has filed criminal charges against Sarfraz Mohamed Abrahim, owner of 611 Transmission & Auto Repair on Route 611 in Stroudsburg PA, following an investigation into allegations of forgery and unauthorized vehicle repairs.

East Stroudsburg University will hold its commencement exercises on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10 in Koehler Fieldhouse. The graduate commencement ceremony will take place Friday at 6:45 p.m. Ashlee Grennan M’10 M’25 will be the student commencement speaker. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place on Saturday. The busy time of year sends customers to floral shops nationwide, but many like this one in Tannersville are also seeing an uptick in costs.
