MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The United States District Attorney's Office announced the arrest of a 46-year-old man from Stroudsburg after he allegedly secured $2.2 million and spent it on some luxury items. Officials say that Brian Albelli of Stroudsburg was sentenced to 48 months of prison time following his convictions of wire fraud and money laundering. The U.S. District Attorney's Office states that Albelli filed approximately 20 fraudulent applications for pandemic stimulus funds under various business entities under hid and his family's control. He even allegedly filed on behalf corporate entities under his control that did not have actual business operations.
