Many taxpayers were under the impression that state funding would offset school property taxes. It seems we've all been hoodwinked. We send our legislators to Harrisburg to work on our behalf, and now we're told that we're being misled. State funding MUST be linked to reducing school property taxes, or we should be allowed to stop paying school property taxes until it happens.

Does More State Funding Guarantee a Reduction in School Property Taxes?

This week during budget hearings, I asked the Secretary of Education the question on everyone’s mind—does increasing state funding guarantee lower school property taxes?

Who Are you?

My name is Willie Watkins and I am the St. Luke’s Sports Performance Coach at Stroudsburg High school.

Why did you decide to become a strength coach?

I played sports my entire life and I knew when choosing a career that I wanted to choose something that allowed me to stay close to sports.

Why did you chose to work for Stroudsburg?

Stroudsburg High school was assigned to me by St. Luke’s, but I’m glad they put me here. I have been enjoying my time so far.
