The East Stroudsburg University campus community is rallying behind a student’s effort to raise funding for muscular dystrophy that was inspired by her bond with a nine-year-old boy battling the condition.

An annual tradition continues to honor women during Women's History Month in Monroe County.

Over 170 high school students got to attend this year's forum.

East Stroudsburg South Students interacted with women leaders in the area today. They heard their stories and about the history of women's rights. Guests included the superintendent of East Stroudsburg Area School District as well as state representatives and a female journalist.

Public Notice MONROE COUNTY HAS BEEN AWARDED FEDERAL FUNDS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)/FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY UNDER THE EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER NATIONAL BOARD PROGRAM. Monroe County has been chosen to receive $65,988 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.

EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Lead foot drivers beware! Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) work zone safety cameras have been catching speeders in record numbers at a local exit on Interstate 80.

Construction on Interstate 80 near East Stroudsburg is nothing new, and neither are PennDOT's work zone safety cameras, but officials from East Stroudsburg Borough say the number of speeders caught by these cameras is excessive, and it doesn't seem to be slowing drivers down.

The next meeting of the East Stroudsburg Council of Trustees is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2025. Committees and the full board will meet as follows:

The Smithfield Township Environmental Advisory Council shall hold their regular meetings for the 2025 calendar year on the third Tuesday of the month from March through October. During November and December, the Council shall meet on Wednesday, November 19th and Wednesday, December 17th.
