Short Term Rental Information
The Borough of East Stroudsburg enacted a short term rental ordinance in 2021. The ordinance requires licensing and a list of requirements including the use of a private trash hauler. Zoning regulations limit the licenses to Commercial and Industrial areas, properties in residential areas will need a variance. Details can be found in the East Stroudsburg STR Ordinance. The Borough of East Stroudsburg is digitizing its parking operations with Passport, a leading transportation software and payments company that is trusted by cities to manage their parking and mobility infrastructure. The East Stroudsburg Borough Water Department will begin flushing all fire hydrants in the Borough’s water service area beginning Monday, October 4 through Friday, October 8, 2021. The crews will be flushing at various times and locations throughout the Borough. This program is a necessary distribution system maintenance function in which sediment is expelled from the distribution system by opening fire hydrants and flowing them until the water appears clear. The flushing program also allows Water Department personnel to assess the proper operation of the fire hydrants.
Garbage Service Suspended: Due to the weather, Waste Management has suspended the garbage collection in the Borough of East Stroudsburg. If your garbage was not collected today, Waste Management will be collecting it tomorrow, Wednesday, February 10th. If your garbage was already collected, please be sure to bring your garbage cans in from curbside prior to 9:00 p.m. tonight.

Pa. state Rep. Maureen Madden led a House Democratic Policy Committee hearing at East Stroudsburg University on the topic of college affordability. Madden believes the state must close the gap that has made getting a college degree unattainable for many students.
