According to Pocono Township Police Department on August 19 around 9:50 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Tesla SUV with an expired and suspended registration.
During the traffic stop, police say they made contact with 29-year-old Jamisa A. Mclvor from East Stroudsburg who had an expired and suspended driver's license.

According to the Pocono Township Police Department, an officer was contacted by a victim who reported her credit card was illegally being used to make several purchases.
The victim told police in May, she was with Michelle Henderson, 39, from East Stroudsburg, at her house when allegedly at some point Henderson took the victim's credit card to put it on her DoorDash account to order Wendy's.
EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Area schools have received funding to introduce a new curriculum approved for students with disabilities.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) announced Friday, 10 area schools have received grant funding under the Disability Inclusive Curriculum Pilot Program to instruct K-12 students on the political, economic, and social contributions of individuals with disabilities.
MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Investigators are searching for a man they say is wanted for drug delivery that resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man.
According to the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney in March 2023 a 33-year-old Stroudsburg man, Steven Nitschke, was found dead in his home of an apparent drug overdose.
An autopsy and toxicology report showed Nitschke’s cause of death was fentanyl toxicity.

On Monday the Stroud Area Regional Police Department said officers took a report of a missing person from the East Stroudsburg Area. The missing person was William C. Read who was described as a 36-year-old white man, standing 5'6" tall, around 145 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

First responders say several fire departments were dispatched to the 200 block of North Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg for a reported apartment building fire around 12:15 p.m.

East Stroudsburg University’s Madelon Powers Gallery will present Amazon: F.L.O.W., an exhibition of art curated by Darlene Farris-LaBar, about the Amazon Rainforest. Amazon F.L.O.W.

East Stroudsburg University students who receive tutoring are more likely to continue their education at ESU than those who don’t. They are also more likely to earn As and Bs in their courses for which they receive tutoring.
That’s according to research in 2018 that looked at the effectiveness of ESU’s Tutorial Program for new first-time students and transfer students.

Three ESU professors and two graduate students are participating in a two-year grant project funded by the Bureau of Family Health, a subsidiary of Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH), that focuses on promoting the safety and well-being of children and reducing preventable childhood fatalities.

The East Stroudsburg University Foundation announced it has received a $38,300 grant from the Weiler Family Foundation, based in Cresco, Pa. These funds will support the purchase of new medical equipment for the ESU Communication and Sciences Disorders Department.

East Stroudsburg University’s Department of Communications Sciences and Disorders was represented at the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association convention in King of Prussia, Pa., earlier this year. All attendees represented ESU by presenting on highly-relevant presentations on topics in the field.
