For National Trails Day next Saturday (June 7), TNC is hosting the grand opening of a new interactive birding trail at our Long Pond Preserve. The features that make this trail unique are (1) its community science integration and (2) its interactive audio tour. The Poconos are home to Pennsylvania’s highest concentration of rare species.

Rotting Fruit

Rotting Fruit is a 5 piece hardcore punk band from Allentown, PA, Est. October 10th, 2022. The members consist of Matt Amaya on vocals, David Reyes on lead guitar, Juan DeLeon on rhythm guitar, JC Rosario on bass, and Martin Dipple on drums. The band makes original music, plays live shows, and strives to bring out and expand the punk scene.

Upset Tax Sale

All properties that have failed to receive a bid at the fall Upset Tax Sale will be exposed again at public auction at the Judicial Tax Sale. This sale is held in the spring of each year. The minimum starting bid is bureau costs. All properties are sold free and clear of all delinquent real estate taxes and municipal claims, mortgages, liens, charges and estates of whatsoever kind, with notification required by law except ground rents, separately taxed. Stroudfest 2025

FREE COMMUNITY  EVENT – The Sherman Theater presents the annual Labor Day Festival on Saturday, August 30 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM! Craft, retail, food and beverage vendors will line the sidewalks on Main Street from 5th to 9th Street, featuring a food court in Courthouse Square, complementing dozens of eclectic shops and restaurants downtown. There will be live music at multiple stages throughout the day, and lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy!

Fireworks at Skytop Lodge

Bring a blanket or your favorite chair and join Skytop Lodge for their grand fireworks display on Saturday, July 5. Arrive early and enjoy live music, concession stand items, food trucks and cash bar. Fireworks will commence at dusk. This event is open to the public with limited parking beginning at 5 p.m. until 8:45 p.m.

Shawnee Fireworks Display

Join Shawnee Mountain for an evening of fun! Enjoy live DJ, food and dessert trucks, vendors and fireworks at sundown. Remember to bring your blankets and chairs to enjoy the show from the base and beginners areas. Gates open at 5:30pm and fireworks begin at dusk.
