“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is set to be the fourth installment of the recent Spider-Man movie series starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker. While this movie is not set to release until July 31, 2026, the official trailer was released last month on March 18, 2026.

The trailer showcased a lonely Peter Parker trying to reconnect with his friends after the events of the previous movie, “Spider-Man: No-Way Home”. In addition to his mental struggles, it is revealed that Spider-Man is struggling with mutating DNA, causing his powers to change. In addition, these clips showed Spider-Man fighting more on the street level as opposed to the grand world saving schemes that have happened in previous movies. This trailer was well received by fans and sparked excitement along with a number of theories.

There are some Marvel characters with confirmed appearances in the new movie. Most obviously, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will be key characters as MJ and Ned. The trailer also confirmed that the Punisher, the Scorpion, and Bruce Banner (the Hulk) will have roles in the movie.

I’m excited to see how Punisher and Spider-Man interact considering they have such different ideals and personalities.

The Punisher and the Hulk are more popular Marvel characters than the Scorpion, but for those who need a refresher, he last appeared in a post-credit scene of “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. This post-credit scene featured the Scorpion and the Vulture in prison where the Vulture denies knowing Spider-Man’s identity.

While this new trailer did confirm numerous roles in the movie, it also raised speculation about the appearance of multiple other characters. Jean Grey, also known as Phoenix, is a character from the X-Men who is rumored to be played by “Stranger Things” actress, Sadie Sink. Sink’s appearance in the movie has been confirmed but not her role.

Additionally, there is speculation over a few additional Marvel characters reprising their roles such as Charlie Cox for Daredevil or a certain symbiote. Matt Murdock, otherwise known as Daredevil, was briefly featured in the last Spider-Man movie as Peter Parker’s lawyer. Venom also appeared in the end credit scene to “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, where a piece of the symbiote was left behind in Parker’s world. These instances have led some to believe that these loose ends will be tied up in the upcoming movie.

Considering how well the trailer did, I have high hopes for this movie!

Apart from just speculating over theories and general excitement, this trailer has already proved itself. Prior to its release, “Deadpool & Wolverine” held the record for best trailer launch in history with 365 million views in 24 hours. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”’s trailer doubled this number and set a new record with over 718 million views in its first 24 hours. A mere three days later, the trailer had already surpassed one billion views.

While fans have to wait until July for the official release of the movie, it is already being regarded with excitement and praise.
