Fireworks Reminder The 4th of July is always a popular time for fireworks as part of the celebration.  This is just a reminder that before you purchase any fireworks, Pennsylvania does have a law on fireworks usage.  

ATV crash leads police to finding two stolen ATVs

TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Monroe County man is facing charges after allegedly crashing an ATV leading police to discover multiple stolen ATVs at his residence, according to Pocono Mountain Regional Police. David Frantz Jr. of Tunkhannock Twp., PA is facing two felony charges of Receiving Stolen Property. According to the criminal complaint, Pocono Mountain Police Department responded to the 200 block of Blossom Lane for a report of ATV crash, but the driver left the area on a dark colored ATV.

Three arrested during DUI checkpoints in Pennsylvania

(WBRE/WYOU) — State police announced DUI checkpoints placed across various roadways in Pennsylvania resulted in three arrests. Police say checkpoints and roving patrols were placed as they search for impaired drivers throughout Carbon and Monroe counties between June 20-22. Over $700K lottery ticket sold in Pa. As a result, three drivers were arrested for DUI, and multiple traffic citations, along with warnings, were issued.

Woman accused of stealing around $500K from employer 

CHESTNUTHILL TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police said in a report Monday that an employee of a lab company is accused of stealing around $500,000 of funds for her personal use after a receipt was found in the bathroom.  According to PSP, troopers were called to investigate at Prosser Laboratories after the owner said a Staples receipt was found in the company's employee restroom.

Truck carrying asphalt catches fire after rollover

MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A section of Route 209 has been closed after a crash that occurred Monday morning. According to the Stroudsburg Fire Department, a dump truck carrying asphalt rolled over and caught fire.
