One last note

The crowd erupts with applause, the bands energy radiating off the field. For the last time the band played their show during half-time. Three long months of late night, and after school practices led up to that moment.

“Our last half time show was amazing despite it being Halloween,” says Anabelle Cervone,‘27.

Relief washes over the band, it’s finally over, those late Friday nights have come to an end. A bittersweet finale for the seniors as they play in the stands for the last time.

However, it isn’t the bands finale performance of the season. Since August, the band has been preparing for their grand finale at Metlife Stadium, where the perform at the USBands competition.

“I cannot wait for my first and last Metlife experience,” says Crista Kopec ‘26. “I am a very emotional person so I am preparing to say goodbye to one of the best things I have ever done in my life.”

Every year the band preforms for friends and family before departing for East Rutherford, New Jersey. This performance will take place at the school stadium on Saturday, November 8th, at 1:15. It is open to the public, so make sure to attend and show your support!

The band has poured it’s heart into every rehearsal, perfecting each note, step and formation for this final moment. All the hours spent under the lights is put to the test as they prepare for their one last chance to showcase everything they’ve worked so hard for.

Every section has grown stronger together, united by the shared goal of ending the season on a high note, with every beat echoing the dedication and passion they’ve carried since the very first day of band camp.

As the season comes to a close, emotions run high, especially for the seniors. This performance is their final bow, a farewell to the program they’ve contributed to. They’ll take the field one last time, surrounded by friends who’ve become family, playing the music that tells the story of their journey.

With the final note, the season, and for some, their high school marching band career, will officially end. This years band will leave behind memories, pride, and a legacy that will carry on long after the lights fade.
