ARREST
On August 28, 2024, at approximately 1841 hours, Officers with the Pocono Township Police Department responded to a 911 hang-up call at the Night Lodge in Bartonsville. Upon arrival contact was made with a female party who showed signs of recent physical abuse. After further investigation, Officers discovered that the female had been assaulted days prior by her boyfriend, Ahmed Elbahnasawi a 34-year-old male from Berwick. Elbahnasawi had fled the area prior to officers arrival.
Charges have been filed on Elbahnasawi for Simple Assault and Harassment. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for a future date.
