The borough of Stroudsburg has implemented a new Short-term Rental Ordinance and refined zoning regulations to prohibit short term rentals in residential districts (R-1, R-2 and R-3) and allow it in all other zoning districts. Thursday, March 27, 2025, was the Opening Day for Major League Baseball (MLB). Twenty-eight teams out of thirty played to welcome the season.
With spring training beginning February 21, this opening day is the earliest for MLB in 7 years. The northeast will suffer the most from this as the weather is in its annual rounds of teasing with the warmth of spring.

As Women’s History Month comes to an end, the Mountaineer would like to showcase women in art and entertainment.
Women have been the spark of inspiration for the creation of many art pieces from the Renaissance, Colonial, Victorian, and Elizabethan periods, as well as from various cultures.
A new coffee shop is coming to Stroudsburg! Flavour of Brazil is a coffee shop and market coming to 149 North Ninth Street. The cafe will feature authentic “fresh roasted Brazilian coffee, teas, sodas, other foods” and treats shipped from Brazil to make this a unique Brazilian coffee house set in the heart of the Poconos.
The Gallery on 530 Main Street has been hosting an “All About Music” Art show. The show debuted on Feb.22 and will conclude on April 5. Over 75 artists will be featured celebrating music in art.
