Short Term Rental Information
The Borough of East Stroudsburg enacted a short term rental ordinance in 2021. The ordinance requires licensing and a list of requirements including the use of a private trash hauler. On Jan 16, 2024, a month after Stroudsburg High School was evacuated due to a fire in the Boys’ Bathroom, firetrucks were dispersed again to SHS.
According to the Stroudsburg Fire Department’s Facebook page, SHS had a contained fire within a heating unit on the second floor of the building. On the scene were both Stroud Township and East Stroudsburg Fire Departments.
The fire department was notified due to the automatic fire alarm in the building. Upon entering the building, smoke led the fire officials to the second floor.
East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania recognized the winners for the 2024 Boddie Scholarship, Martin Luther King Jr. awards, and the Julianna V. Bolt Art Contest. The recipients were honored at the 27th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Breakfast, on January 15.
