Wednesday, Jan 22, there was a school board meeting. Here are some general bullet points on topics they hit pertaining to SHS students :
- FBLA presentation : talked about going to competition and past year competitions
- Attendance – This included lawful and unlawful absences. Lawful being things such as illness, obtaining professional healthcare, quarantine, family emergency, accident recovery, required court attendance, death in family,fieldtrips, observance of a religious holiday, nonschool-sponsored educational tours or trips, and any other urgent reasons that may reasonably cause a student’s absence. Students are allowed 10 excused absences and anything after that will need to be excused by a doctor’s note, court order, any educational trips, etc.
- Course proposals: Motion to approve the addition of the following new courses: Digital Broadcasting & Production, Hospitality & Data Analytics, PLTW Engineering Capstone H, PLTW Principles of Biomedical Science.
