What's happening on Cherry Lane Church Rd?
On January 6th 2025, the previous Board of Commissioners amended Pocono Township's zoning map. The new map changed the two red parcels below from low density residential to commercial. With this change, these two parcels became the only two commercially zoned parcels on Cherry Lane Church Rd. Last night, I took action to change them back.
These properties are heavily wooded and surround a small lake upstream from our Cranberry Bog. They are situated in a quiet neighborhood on a municipal road. This change threatens our most precious and sensitive ecosystem, will take commercial traffic off of our State roads and onto the ones the Township pays for, and could degrade the quality of life and property values of those living nearby.
