2026 Prom Venue: The SteelStacks and the ArtsQuest Center

The 2026 prom venue for Stroudsburg High School will be at the ArtsQuest Center at the Steelstacks in Bethlehem. This location is full of culture and has a rich history.

The SteelStacks campus spans around 10 acres and is the heart of Bethlehem’s Southside. The towering structures and blast furnaces from the prior steel factory used to be the nation’s second-largest steel manufacturer.

Bethlehem Steel had its materials used in incredible monuments such as the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, Alcatraz, Madison Square Garden, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Additionally, over 1,000 of the American Navy’s ships used during the world wars had steel produced in Bethlehem.

This factory was in use from 1857 until 1995. It officially closed in 2003 when Bethlehem Steel disbanded. However, in an effort to preserve the history of the area, the City of Bethlehem, Bethlehem Area School District, and Northampton County worked together to create a Tax Increment Financing district so that the revenue collected from this tax money would “create a space that would continually highlight the region’s rich cultural heritage while providing a platform for music, art, education, and community engagement.”

This campus is now a thriving cultural hub for the arts and entertainment. Within the 10-acre area, there is PBS39, the National Museum of Industrial History, and multiple venues such as Musikfest Cafe, Levitt Pavilion, and the ArtsQuest Center.

Last year’s venue felt too cramped so I am very excited for the ArtsQuest Center as it’s bigger and more scenic.

Immediately surrounding the Steelstacks are numerous more areas filling the arts and entertainment district. This includes Steel Ice Center, an ice skating rink where Lehigh University’s team plays; Wind Creek, which holds a casino, a hotel, a shopping mall, and an event venue; and numerous other places for food, events, and art.

This revamped campus opened again in 2011, and since then, over one million people visit every year. The SteelStacks also hosts numerous free concerts and events, with the most popular being Musikfest.

The ArtsQuest Center in the SteelStacks campus is where Stroudsburg High School will be holding its prom this year after holding it at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, PA, last year.

This venue has a fantastic scenic view as the windows look over the SteelStacks structure. Additionally, the space at the ArtsQuest Center is more spacious than Penn’s Peak. Many Stroudsburg students have expressed their excitement for the new venue and the space and amenities it will provide. Madison Dawson, ’26, exclaims, “I am excited to see the new venue and what they do with the decorations and layout!”

Overall, Stroudsburg High School’s 2026 prom venue is a cultural hub for entertainment and is a rich part of Pennsylvania history.
