Police looking to identify suspect after monument vandalized
EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are asking the public for help identifying a man they say vandalized a monument at a local high school.
Stroud Area Regional Police say around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday a man drove into the Notre Dame High School parking lot.
Students get insights into tech industry in Wilkes-Barre
While there, officers report that he destroyed a "10 Commandments" monument and forcefully tried to get into the school.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
Man dead after Smithfield Township crash
SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is dead after a weekend crash in Monroe County. The Lehigh County Coroner says 38-year-old Michael Crumpler died at Lehigh Valley Hospital on Tuesday.
The crash happened last Sunday night around 6:00 p.m. near Hollow Road in Smithfield Township.
Carbon County fire 66% contained as day 5 continues
They say Crumpler died from blunt force trauma after his motorcycle left the road and hit a utility pole.
State police are investigating the crash.

Tomorrow will be one month since the deadly fire broke out in East Stroudsburg.
While we still do not know the cause of the blaze at the the Wander Inn Apartment Building, a couple who made it out is counting their blessings.
Two people lost their lives in the fire. And while the community continues to mourn the loss, there’s also the stories of human triumph born out of this tragedy.
